Marnie Ellis Fulton is the founder and owner of Bam, Crackle, Dot! LLC. She recently retired after working 38 years as a CEO, COO and Director in both the public and private mental health and addiction fields. She also taught for many years as an Adjunct Professor in the University of Georgia college system.

Marnie and some close friends took Mahjong lessons together early last year and Marnie fell in love with the game and, as a therapist of many years, especially loves the social connections that playing Mahjong creates. Marnie quickly started an open play group called Bam, Crackle, Dot! Mahjong Open Play at the Chamblee Market for the Brookhaven, Chamblee and Dunwoody, GA areas, although players drive from all areas of Atlanta to play. Marnie loves that her open play group is multi-generational as well as co-ed and that the group is very welcoming to all levels of players – beginner through tournament.

Marnie’s interest in the Mahjong world soon stretched from open play to include designing and manufacturing tiles and mats and her first set of tiles and mats were released at the end of November, 2025. With a strong winter theme, Festival of Trees Winter/Christmas tiles and mat and Festival of Lights Winter/Hanukkah tiles and mat are designed for play December through early April. Marnie’s next set, the Happy Happy Birthday tile set and mat are due for a February release. Next up is a dog breed set called “Dogma Jong” tm. Marnie has become a distributor for Rareform, a company that upcycles, designs and creates beautiful custom totes and bags from abandoned billboards. Marnie is married to her best friend, Chris, and they live in Atlanta and in the western North Carolina mountains in Franklin. Chris retired at the end of 2025 from a 40 year career in concert audio touring with Clair Global and is now the COO of the Bam, Crackle, Dot! warehouse, also known as the garage (for now). Chris has designed and set up well organized custom shelving for various tile sets, mats and racks and has set up a shipping station, as well.

Marnie is the proud parent of two sons – Harrison, who has a doctorate in pharmacy and an MBA and who works in pharmaceutical writing and research. Harrison travels a good bit for work presenting information on new drugs to medical professionals and he enjoys playing professional disc golf. Marnie’s younger son, Ty, sadly died in 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in an accidental fall. Ty had just finished his first year in college and was working towards becoming an attorney. 5% of all sales from Bam, Crackle, Dot! will go to the Ty Flynn Memorial Scholarship at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC, a wonderful summer camp for boys attended by both Harrison and Ty for ten summers. Both were campers and later, CIT’s and counselors at Rockmont.

Marnie and Chris are both avid Georgia football fans who enjoy traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends and hiking to waterfalls in NC and north Georgia. They enjoy daily life with their two Springer Spaniels, Peaches and Georgia.

Marnie divides her time between Atlanta, GA, during the week and Franklin, NC, on weekends.

A recently retired university professor and a 40-year veteran of private psychotherapy, she discovered mahjong earlier this year while taking lessons with close friends-and immediately fell in love with both the game and the social connection it creates.

Marnie soon launched Bam, Crackle, Dot! Mahjong Open Play, serving the Brookhaven, Chamblee, and Dunwoody communities. The group is thriving, with players of all skill levels coming together to learn, play, and enjoy the camaraderie of the game.

Spending much of her time in the Northeast Georgia and western North Carolina mountains, Marnie is also excited about introducing mahjongg to those communities. In addition to teaching and organizing play, she currently has three custom tile sets and mats in production, which will soon be available on her website.

When not playing Mahjong or designing new tile sets, Marnie spends much of her time giving back to her community. She walks dogs for an overcrowded shelter, teaches English to the children of migrant workers, and loves spending time with her family and friends.

Marnie is happily married to her best friend, Chris — a concert audio touring engineer who has spent the last 40 years traveling the world with legendary artists including U2, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, Gloria Estefan, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and many more. Chris retires this December.

Marnie is incredibly proud of her son Harrison, who holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy and an MBA. Harrison works in pharmaceutical writing, research, and branding — and will now be managing Marnie’s Mahjong social media pages.

Marnie is also the proud mom of her late son, Ty, who tragically passed away in an accident in 2016 at age 19.

Marnie and Chris have been lifelong parents to English Springer Spaniels — and are currently “managed” by Peaches (named after the Allman Brothers’ Eat a Peach album) and Georgia (named after the Boz Scaggs song, and a shared love for the Georgia Bulldogs). They enjoy hiking to waterfalls in the North Georgia and Western NC mountains, love cooking together, and are looking forward to exciting upcoming travels.

10% of all Bam, Crackle, Dot! sales will be donated to the Alexander Tinsley “Ty” Flynn memorial scholarship at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC. Both Harrison and Ty were campers and later, counselors at Rockmont and loved their ten summers spent there.
