Discover the Art of Mahjong

Marnie Ellis Fulton is the founder and owner of Bam, Crackle, Dot! LLC. She recently retired after a distinguished 38-year career serving as a CEO, COO, and Director in both the public and private mental health and addiction fields. In addition to her leadership roles, Marnie spent many years teaching as an Adjunct Professor within the University of Georgia college system.

Marnie and some close friends took Mahjong lessons early in 2025, and she quickly fell in love with the game. As a therapist for many years, she especially appreciates the meaningful social connections that Mahjong creates. Marnie soon launched Bam, Crackle, Dot! Mahjong Open Play at the Chamblee Market, serving the Brookhaven, Chamblee, and Dunwoody, Georgia communities, while attracting players from across the Atlanta area. She loves that the group is both multi-generational and co-ed, creating a welcoming environment for players of every skill level from beginners to tournament competitors. The group now plays at Vintage and 57th Fighter Group, both in Chamblee, GA. Marnie also started a second open play location at Taqueria Los Hermanos in Lilburn, providing a convenient option for players who live in the northeastern Atlanta area.

Marnie's passion for Mahjong soon expanded beyond open play into designing and manufacturing custom tiles and mats. Her first collections, Festival of Trees Winter/Christmas tiles and mat and Festival of Lights Winter/Hanukkah tiles and mat, were released at the end of November 2025 and are designed for play from December through early April. Her next collection, the Happy Happy Birthday! tile set and matching mat, was released at the end of March 2026. Marnie has also partnered with Rareform, a company that upcycles abandoned billboards into beautifully designed custom totes and bags. As a Rareform distributor, she offers the popular "Blake" tote in a variety of colors at a special discount. Look for Rareform totes and tile bags available on our website!

Marnie is married to her best friend, Chris, and they divide their time between Atlanta and Franklin, North Carolina, in the beautiful western North Carolina mountains. Chris retired at the end of 2025 after a 40-year career in concert audio touring with Clair Global and now serves as the COO of the Bam, Crackle, Dot! Warehouse also known as the garage (for now). He has designed and installed custom shelving for tile sets, mats, and racks, while also creating an efficient shipping station to support the growing business.

Marnie is the proud mother of two sons. Harrison holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an MBA and works in pharmaceutical writing and research. His work frequently takes him around the country presenting information on new medications to healthcare professionals, and in his free time he enjoys competing in professional disc golf. Marnie’s younger son, Ty, tragically passed away in 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in an accidental fall. At the time, Ty had completed his first year of college and was pursuing his dream of becoming an attorney. In his memory, 5% of every sale from Bam, Crackle, Dot! is donated to the Ty Flynn Memorial Scholarship at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, North Carolina a summer camp that both Harrison and Ty attended for ten summers as campers before later serving as CITs and counselors.

Marnie and Chris are devoted Georgia football fans who enjoy traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and hiking to waterfalls throughout North Carolina and North Georgia. They also cherish everyday life with their two Springer Spaniels, Peaches and Georgia.
